Dermaplaning is a non-invasive exfoliating treatment which removes dead skin cells, layers of skin and even excess facial hair using surgical blade. The dermaplaning treatment is designed to stimulate the production of young skin cells and boost collagen production.Dermaplaning is completely pain free with no recovery time.

Dermaplaning helps to:

  - remove the effects of sun damage,

  - reduce signs of ageing,

  - diminish hyperpigmentation,

  - brighten dull skin,

  - exfoliate the skin,

  - reduce appearence of fine lines and wrinkles,

  - remove peach fuzz

  - achieve a healthier and more radiant appearance

  - active ingredients penetrate deeper into the skin.

Dermaplaning Process:

Double Cleanse

Before Dermaplaning treatment I will double cleanse your skin using a natural and organic cleanser. I massage cleanser into the face using circular motions to remove the remaining makeup, oil and dirt.

 Dermaplaning

Next, I will use a surgical blade at a 45 degree angle to remove peach fuzz and dead skin cells hence performing deep exfoliation of your skin. During this stage you will feel a light scraping on your skin – this is the peach fuzz being shaved off along with dead skin cells and dirt.

Facial Massage

I will use circular movements to ensure that moisturiser is penetrated into all areas of the face, this massage is highly effectively directly after the dermaplaning, as a result of the removal of dead skin, that usually prevents penetration. Freshly exfoliated skin needs lots of hydration. I will apply a hyaluronic acid serum I 2mmediately after treatment, as it’s a great moisturiser and a  drink of water for the skin.

 Moisturising Face Mask

I will use circular movements to ensure that moisturiser is penetrated into all areas of the face, this massage is highly effectively directly after the dermaplaning, as a result of the removal of dead skin, that usually prevents penetration This procedure is completed with   a luxury moisturising facial mask.

 Before Your Treatment:

To achieve the best results it is important to follow before and aftercare advises.

  • Stop any manual or physical exfoliation 3- 5 days before treatment.  The essence of a dermaplaning is that is exfoliates the uppermost layers of skin to remove unwanted skin gells, dull and dry skin, as well as vellus hair.
  • Discontinue use of  any products containing ingridients that slough off skin cells for 3-5 days before treatment. This includes AHA, BHA, enzymes, micro-beads and retinoids.
  • If you are currently using Retin-A stop using 7-14 days prior to treatment.
  • Avoid sun explosure for 5-7 days before treatment as it can increase skin sensitivity. If your face red or burned you should wait for 14 days before dermaplanning.
  • Do not book any chemical peels for at least 14 days prior treatment
  • Please arrive to your appointment make up free.

Dermaplaning Aftercare Advice:

Following your treatment, it is important to take good care of your skin so that you can maintain your excellent results. If you follow the post-treatment advice carefully then you are likely to achieve better and longer lasting results:

  • Avoid the use of saunas or steam rooms and don’t engage in any strenuous exercise for 24 hours
  • Do not touch your face
  • Avoid using any products on your face which contain exfoliating ingredients for 24 hours to avoid irritating your skin any further
  • Do not wear any makeup for 24 hours
  • Do not book in any other facial treatments until 2 weeks after your dermaplaning
  • Follow a very simple skincare routine for 2 weeks post-treatment. Cleanse your skin gently using water only or a very mild cleanser
  • It is important to moisturize your freshly exfoliated skin regularly to rehydrate it. Many clients find that products containing hyaluronic acid, vitamin C and retinol are particularly effective post dermaplaning treatment
  • Avoid the use of any harsh cleaning products
